SUMMER CAMP IN
DENMARK - GENTOFTE
When and where:
Gentofte Figure Skating Club (GKF) would like to invite you to our Figure skating summer camp 2024 in Gentofte, near Copenhagen. For the athletes, we are offering different practice packages for the different levels.
The camp starts Monday the 22th of July and ends Friday 26th of July 2024.
We have following groups:
- Junior / Senior (minimum 2 A & 1-2 triple jumps )
- Intermediate novice / Advanced novice until 15 years (minimum all double jumps and working on 2 A & triple jumps)
- Junior B / Senior B (double jumps & working on 2 A & triple jumps)
- Basic Novice / Novice B / Junior C (double Jumps & working on 2 A & triple jumps)
- Chicks / Novice C (minimum all single jumps, axel and practicing /or including double jumps)
- Skaters until age of 10 years (only single jumps and practicing single axel and double jumps)
- Skaters from the age of 11 years old (only single jumps and practicing single axel and double jumps)

When signing up for the camp you must find the one that best describes you as a skater. Look at jumps AND age.

Group 6 and 7 - can land constantly and fully rotated all single jumps
Basic Novice/Novice C - has not reached the age of thirteen (13)
Intermediate Novice/Novice B - has not reached the age of fifteen (15)
Advanced Novice/Novice A - has reached the age of ten (10) and has not reached the age of fifteen (15)
Practice:
Group 1 – 5:
- Technique on ice, includes steps and spins (10 x 50 min.)
- Skating Skills / Expression (5 x 50 min.)
- Dancing / ballet / dance workout (3 x 50 min.)
- Athletics (5 x 50 min.)
Group 6 - 7:
- Technique on ice, includes steps and spins (10 x 50 min.)
- Dancing / ballet / dance workout (3 x 50 min.)
- Athletics (5 x 50 min.)
The size of the groups for technique training on ice:
Our goal is to be no more than 6 athletes per coach but in some cases there might be more. The minimum size of each group is 4 and might be filled up with skaters from other groups.
In some cases the groups might be mixed.

Group 1-5
Price 533 Euro or 4.000 Dkk
Group 6-7
Price 440 Euro or 3.300 Dkk

Accommodation needs to be booked separately and is not incl. in the camp price.

Insurance
Make sure that you bring your blue European health certificate.
Responsibility
The organizer is not held liable for you or your health on or off the ice. All skaters who are under the age of 18 years should travel with a parent or guardian. For emergency cases, we have a doctor, MD-PhD Valtter Virtanen, in the camp. He will take care of the first aid if something happens to you during the practice sessions and will bring you to the closest hospital, if necessary.
Younger skaters that are not able to tie their own skates should bring parent to help them during the camp.
Cancellation
In case of cancellation, a written form is required. We will return 50% of the booking when the written cancellation is done 1/1 2024 – 31/03.2024.
After 01.04.2024 we will charge 100% of the booking.
If you have to cancel due to injury then 75% of the booking will be returned but proof of injury have to be provided.
Photo and video
By signing up to the camp you also give us permission to take video and pictures and use it on social media.

Skating equipment and sharpening.
Sate-Bootique will join us on the first day of the camp. Please write them if you have special requests.

| Alina Mayer-Virtanen Figure Skating coach Alina Mayer-Virtanen is Master of Science in psychology. She was skating by herself for 24 years and represented Germany. The last few years of her skating career she skated at the international level in single skating. Alina is coaching single skating since 2013 in Oberstdorf-Germany and in Finland since 2017 as well. Alina is also coach on Ice Dome. She speaks German, English and a bit of Finnish. |

| Valtter Virtanen Figure Skating coach Valtter has participated in several European and World Championships in single skating. He is a three-time Nordic medalist (gold in 2022, silver in 2016, bronze in 2014) and a six-time Finnish national champion (2013, 2015–2018, 2022, 2023). He has qualified for the free skate at three ISU Championships. Valtter works part-time as a doctor for Keski-Suomen keskussairaala and Seppälääkärit in Jyväskylä. But his main focus is still on figure skating. He is the team doctor of JYP ice hockey. Valtter speaks Finnish, English, German and Swedish.

| Lorenzo Magri Born in 1979 in Bologna, he has trained numerous athletes (for example Daniel Grassl, Ekaterina Kurakova) representing many different federations at international competitions: Junior Championships and Senior Championships, for both Europe and the World. He coached top World level skaters who were medallists at ISU Championships as well as ISU Junior and Senior Grand Prix, Challengers and International Competitions. He is IV European Level Coach CONI (Italian Olympic Committee), he has Degree in Architecture, Industrial Design (Politecnico Milano) and Sport Science. He is ISU Technical Specialist for Singles and Pairs as well as ISU Data Replay Operator. He took part in the organization of Olympics, ISU and FISU Championships, he’s creative director and choreographer of several international Galas and TV Shows. He is teaching at the University and Schools Sport Marketing and Management, Sport Science and Coaching Preparation. Lorenzo speaks Italian, Spanish, French and English.

| Isabella Piippo Figure Skating coach Isabella has competed in figure skating over ten years. She ended competing last spring and continued coaching this fall in Peurunka Skating Academy Laukaa. She also coached earlier during her own career. Isabella speaks Finnish and English.

| DANCE Teacher will soon be announced |
Travel to Copenhagen airport. The airport is only 20 kilometers from the rink. Transportation from the airport to Gentofte can be done by train.
